The Healthy Side of Dirt

1312Being exposed to a certain amount of bacteria is good for us because it builds our immune system and helps balance our overall health. Today, many of the fruits and vegetables that we eat are cultivated in soil that is depleted to the point that it does not provide us with exposure to microbiota. As our environment continues to become more sterile, many of us are experiencing poor health and digestive issues.*

It is important for kids to be exposed to bacteria to help build their immune systems. Encourage kids to play outside barefoot in safe areas, and get your older kids involved in outdoor activities such as gardening.
