Practice Mindfulness and Meditation

1437Our minds are almost always racing, which is why many people turn to meditation and mindfulness for a stress-reducing mental break. Practicing mindfulness means that you pay attention to the present moment, pause, breathe deep and relax. It’s best if you can practice mindfulness a few times throughout your day. In one eight-week study, participants who practiced mindfulness reduced their use of medical services by 43 percent.*

Mindfulness is all about slowing down and taking in your surroundings. Start by focusing on your breath with deep inhales through your nose and slow exhales out of your mouth. Then, relax and check in with your senses. What do you feel? Hear? Touch? A practice such as this will help you be present and relax.
