Studies have shown that working a night shift can increase a woman’s chances of type-2 diabetes. When compared to women who did not work a night shift, those that did had a 5 percent increase over two years. Women who have worked over 20 years in a rotating night shift had a 58 percent increase. When working a night shift, it disturbs your body’s natural clock and balance of energy thus causing high levels of glucose and insulin resistance.
