Indoor Heating Will Dry You Out!

Dry skin is especially common in winter because the humidity levels outside drop and your skin is unable to hold as much moisture.  The warm, dry indoor heating may feel nice, but it actually dries out your skin more, as well as your mucous membranes, your lips become chapped, dry noses will lead to nosebleeds, and your dry throat will give you that infamous winter sore throat.[1]

When the heat is on, set it to the lowest comfortable temperature; use a humidifier or place an oven-safe pan of water over a radiator as needed to keep the air moist and healthy for your skin.
